I hate new car hand-overs, they are so false. Once the salesman took me on a guided tour of the dealership before giving me the keys...made me late for an appointment.
God job he introduced me to the Service Dept though, we were soon on 1st name terms...
I prefer the "sign this bit of paper and here's your keys approach"
When I bought the current car the flowers for Mrs DM just got chucked into the boot before driving off...at least she got them straight away...
Victor Meldrew springs to mind.
Mrs Ted and I at our sophisticated renewal of vows last year.
Why?
You really like all the cobblers that salesmen ply? <shakes head>
You get a pretty decent handover on a used car. Cars fancy features shown to you, a bit of a natter.
MB Hull did one better, they delivered the shed and took my old car away. I bet driver was anxious it didnt break on the way.
x2 M16 SFT's side by side. They drove mine up on its cherished plate, gave me my new one on its cherished plate, and took the old one on its cherished plates.
No, no trade plates on mine and the fella was the brother in law of the salesman who did some driving for the dealership. Often the sales staff were out as they delivered cars to customers FOC.Bet they were anxious the new one didn't breakdown on the way to delivery!!
Two cars one the same plate? Didn't they use trade plates?
