Merc W211 E220 cdi 2007 ext B Pillar trim

Hi, Have rust bubble appearing on exterior B Pilllar trim in corner near glass and seal, how come as I thought they were plastic!.
Any ideas to cure.

I've got that on the rear side glass surround trim on my estate, and that part definitely is plastic. Mercedes have surpassed themselves with this one.

The B pillar exterior trim is made out of metal. I have taken them off before to replace mine.

Just lower the window down, pull the weather strip out slightly, take out the screws, slide and wiggle the exterior trim out. The hardest part is to slide and wiggle the new one in, but I figured it out.

Wouldnt Mercedes replace this part under waranty?

Feels like plastic when you tap it, are we talking about the correct trim, I mean the vertical exterior trim between the two doors.

Yeah, the vertical exterior trim on each door.

yep got it, you can get MB part for £19 and this is just a plastic film to cover trim, not a lot of use as the corosion is obviously underneath.

got the same on my 2004 e320 both back and front doors not sure what to do with it
