Hello everyone,
i had a ford focus st which was 250bhp a very quick car
i would like to downgrade to a nice classy car what's more affordable

Like a Mercedes C230 the 2door coupe shaps with the panoramic roof
the 2.3L pushing 197bhp 0-60 8seconds
instead of the 1.8 pushing 192bhp 0-60 10seconds

02-04 shape models as they are going for fairly cheap prices with low mileage

as i rang the remap company asked how much would i gain with stage 1
they explain 20bhp and 45 torque
so total torque is 330 and 220bhp for 2.3L c230

is this correct? shall i also buy a induction kit to help it breath
as total this will cost £350-400 for induction and stage 1
which is cheap in my eyes

what will be difference in speed 0-60 as i would like to increase acceleration then top end also any other recommendations what to use or buy

I can only quote my experience I have my W208 230k running at 278 BHP but that's with major head valve pulley and cam work. The remap on mine when it was in its original state only gave an actual 9 bhp and that was done by one of the best mappers in Germany

Your best power gain and cheapest on this engine is to change the crank or SC pulley to get more boost but be careful the car you are looking at is extremely prone to electrical faults and gremlins

why not get a w203 c320 cdi, then remap it ;) welcome to the forum btw

A C320 are 220bhp standard im not sure the torque
is it a diesel?
and do you know the difference you will gain from a stage 1 remap?

On any of the N/A MB petrol cars a stage one remap in reality will only give you between 8 - 12 bhp

On the diesels a stage one will give you between 35 - 60 bhp depending who does it and what risks you are prepared to take

As a rule of thumb MB kompressor cars of 6 cylinders and below respond better to pulley changes to make the supercharger spin up faster

MB diesels respond better to remaps to adjust turbo boost and fuelling
