Giving 'evil big brother' a break for a while I've found some Mercedes related news in this months Octane magazine:

A short article mentioning the sale of this 1979 350SL that went under the hammer for a mere £2900

Is this cheap for an SL350 especially considering that it was a two owner car with hard top and private plate?

Going by the photos alone, it seems a steal. No history apparently ("said to have been well maintained").

Yeah I thought it looked a steal. I would have loved to have been in that auction room, but then again I think I would have been £2900 worse off!!!
