Immaculate car and I really like your attention to detail!

Is it an Avantgarde or Elegance? Just wondering as it sits nicely without much of a gap in the front wheel arch.

This is the Avantgarde model and has the air suspension option.

It does sit very nicely I must admit, I'm never sure if it's a placebo affect that on setting 2 it sits a little lower or not?! :dk:

In the SAAB Alex, was the hand brake a little precarious.. it looks fragile with a possibility of dare I say it "Breaking" ..I just wonder was there ever a problem with the hand brake like that..

Handbrake was always fine, although when the handbrake was down it sat flush and was identical to the side that doesn't have the handbrake. If that makes sense.

Well the E is in for a full service and MOT today so fingers crossed it's all ok.

I'm not anticipating any issues as there's no problems I'm aware of and last year the brake pads were replaced when I bought the car as they were advisory on the MOT.

Good Luck "Ninja Detailer" .. let us know how you get on..:D

It passed!!!

Only two advisories regarding some play in the front ball joints. Had a chat with the mechanic though and he said it's not major but I'll get it don't in a few months anyway.

Also had a full service carried out. All filters replaced, oil, full check over and all is well.

Nice looking machine. Styling wise (interior and exterior) I've always thought the W211 was of the best looking MBs of all.

Thanks chaps.

I do think the W211 looks very Mercedes. Sounds daft but it is everything a Mercedes is to me. Smart, saloon, RWD, comfy, solid etc.

Well done mate.. would it be rude to ask a "Fellow Ninja" how much was the service?? When I got mine (W203 320CDi) I had the works carried out on her..Fuel/Air/ Oil Filters all replaced, a gearbox service and 6 new glow plugs and control relay all for £640 and and that was an Indie Specialist..

This was a local garage mate although one with a good reputation. Paid cash and got a receipt for the work.

So list was :
Glow plugs checked
Diagnostics checked
Oil/Oil Filter
Air Filter
Pollen Filter
Fuel Filter
MOT

Cost me £250 all in so I can't complain. Service book stamped as well along with the other 13 stamps haha

Well last week was the yearly family trip to Devon and of course the E was the vehicle of choice!

Was great to take my little girl to various places I went to as a kid. This is a friends working farm, it's actually over 700 years old!

Car got a bit dirty on some of the country roads combined with that lovely sea air!

Some stunning views in this part of the country.

Most importantly my little girl seemed to love it!

Back to reality though and the car was given a thorough clean, inside and out! Much to my OCD's relief. :D

So, over 700 miles in total, an average of 39mpg and just ticked over 114k!

Was a really good trip, I highly recommend Devon for a visit. Some narrow lanes but a lot of nice open national speed limit roads which are remarkably smooth and pot hole free!! :)

It's a bit of a cheat on these engine bays as they're pretty easy to clean up as they're so enclosed.

I think initially I just used some Autoglym Rubber & Vinyl care spray and a microfibre. Just sprayed, wiped and just binned the cloth afterwards.

Then every now and then I give the plastics a once over with Chemical Guys New Look Trim Gel which gives a nice lasting shine to plastics. Too glossy and slick for dashboards and buttons but for kick plates, engine bay plastics etc it's excellent.

Photos have all disappeared Alex :D

You know why? Because Photobucket have removed all third party hosting!

Which equates to either paying a lot for an account or hosting somewhere else.

So yep, none of my pictures which are hosted with Photobucket will be appearing. Bunch of idiots, Photobucket not you lot hahaha :)

I heard about this, what a p***take use postimage.io

Cheers

I wonder if they reverse the change considering no one will take them up on their kind offer!

Talk about shooting themselves in the foot!

They could have just increased advertising on their website, and prevented people with ad blockers from using the site to generate more revenue if they needed

This idea was f****** stupid and has destroyed so many forum posts
