Had an email from MB offering to change the front brake pads ( if needed) for £105. Car is a W212 E Class 350 CDI Sport. The dealer is MB Ayr. I presume this is a national offer

That's a good deal. I'm going to check mine.

It's around £120 for fronts and £100 for rears anyway at a good indie

Front pads for my SL are £46 and £20 for the rear ones - both genuine ATE ; the ones for the 190 are £17 for the fronts and £12 for the rears .

I wouldn't pay someone to do a job I can easily do myself , and know it's done right .

Sounds reasonable to me. The SLK front pads (admittedly huge - it has 6 pot calipers) cost c. £275 IIRC, and I've just been quoted £100 for the front pads on the Ypsilon which is at the other extreme - I've seen motorbikes with bigger discs than that!

Cheers,

Gaz

My pads are ok, they were replaced prior to purchase.
Looks like the offer ( good, bad, or indifferent) is a national one.

ATE pads for my S202 were £33 with a weekend discount from ECP.
Takes a couple of hours to do it and clean it all up within the wheel arch.
