hello, I am relativeley new to MB ownership but am now a real enthusiast for the R129! I have a couple of "classics" a '64 Sunbeam Apine and a '86 Porsche 944S but decided I needed a convertable capable of some long distance trips, the old Sunbeam is very willing but not good on motorways or when it rains. I bought a '94 SL280, not perfect but good with a decent history and 69000 miles. I have put 3000 miles on it since January going down to the classic Grand Prix in Pau and touring western France. I was so pleased with its mile eating (no oil or water used either) that I knew this was the car for the job. I have now moved that one on and am taking delivery of a late '96 SL500 with a full MB history 59000 miles 2 owners and the panoramic roof - so now for some serious touring! Looking forward to using the forum for any challenges encountered.
