No license plate - no problem

Steve jobs beloved SL55 wasn't as beloved as thought, yes he loved the car (as do I but that's where the similarities end) but because of his dislike of a license plate read below.

Not sure about in the us. but places like Hong Kong, where car tax is around double of the car value, a lot of wealthy people don't register the car and run their car on trade plate so they don't need to pay the tax.

Is it just me, or didn't this "ploy" just make him all the more susceptible to "people following him"??
You didn't even need to know his license plate number, all you had to do was watch for the SL55 with no plateS. Seems rather dumb for such a "genius".

So in California you don't have to have a numberplate on the car for up to 6 months?, what if you get caught by a speed camera/ red light camera etc?.

Is that just the front plate though?

Many American cars don't have front ones..
