208 sprinter cdi
Hi folks, I've got a 2001 208cdi, just bought it and drove it home.
After 3 days running ok suddenly there is no throttle.the engine starts fine and runs, but the throttle pedal does nothing, so I cant move.
the diagnostic port is a small round one, not obd11 so i can't read it .
What reader do i need , and any ideas whats up?
also any good merc indies near me??
hope someone can help, cos I.m stuck at the moment!:dk::dk:

Hi

It might help to suggest a local MB specialist if you let people know where you are based.:thumb:

OBD2 was not fully implemented for diesels until 2004, it sounds like the old style port is fitted, a local indie with Star is needed but it sounds likely to be the throttle potentiometer but get it diagnosed properly rather than throw parts at it.

Good luck :thumb:

I think that there may be a number of things that could cause this, first I would check that the throttle pedal is still connected to the transponder ..... it is usually a cable and on the cars if you get a friend to use the pedal while you look under the bonnet you should be able to check it. If the transponder or MAF has failed you will probably have to get it on STAR to find out which and in any case if you want to fing local Indies ...... you will have to tell us where you are! simples and very very good luck.

Oops

 Sorry all . I'm in Lancashire near Burnley, small place called Padiham, bb12 postcode area.
