Hi all. Hope you can help.
The auto box on my 320sl has been working beautifully, but since I have had it a year and am uncertain when the auto box had a fluid change I was just about to book it in (all other liquids, filters and consumable have been changed).

However - quick trip this evening, started off fine it's still warm from the last run Stopped in a car park, select reverse and it sounded like I had forgotten to put my foot on the clutch of a manual car. Put in D, same again. Stop & repeat (ouch). Park it up, swear a bit and go have a cup of tea.

Return back to the car an hour later, all is well with the box. Changes gear sweat as before.

Ideas? It's my daily driver so I don't want to get stranded. :dk:

Cheers.....Thehouseofbrown.

This is a 5-speed, yes? I reckon you should check the fluid level but unfortunately you need a special dipstick for this so quickest to get a garage with M-B knowledge to look at it.

Thanks. One week in, fluid and filter change appears to have done the trick. No noises and slightly improved shifting. :thumb:
