SO HERE'S THE QUESTION:- why are are there no outlets stocking Nokian WinterTyres in the UK ?:confused: I believe you can buy summer tyres in some places but not winter tyres. :dk: Most people on the forum [myself included]who have bought NOKIAN winters have bought then through import purchase via DELTICOM= Mytyres.co.uk They are common throughout Europe and very popular in the USA so why not the UK. Maybe Nokian didn't think there was a market here--- but times change!;)

From the Nokian tyres website.
Nokian Tyres has the world's widest sales and distribution network. Its own sales companies operate in Sweden, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakstan, The Czech Republic, and the USA. Independent importers operate in other countries. Nokian Tyre's own tyre chain, Vianor, has over 700 outlets in 20 countries. With its efficient logistics systems Nokian is able to rapidly deliver products to sales points, and Vianor's extensive range of maintenance and tyre services guarantee that the customer can be offered a total service package.

There was also an outlet in the Scottish Borders at one time. As far as I know it only sold earthmoving equipment tyres.

Maybe they're waiting for you to exploit the gap in the market you've spotted....

If you look at their list there aren't any distributors in the low countries either, or southern Europe. They seem to be concentrating on markets where it gets seriously cold. Their website does talk of "Nordic" conditions. Which we clearly don't get.

Nokian tyres, as with other specialist winter tyre manufacturers, Vredestein come to mind, cannot make enough tyres to satisfy demand, and that demand is mainly the Nordic region and Western/Eastern Europe, the UK does not even register as a market in nthe grand scale of things, although that may well change with recent weather conditions and more driver awareness......
