Hi,

Breaking off from this thread, my two ODBii scanners both exhibit the same issue.

One is a wifi reader that connects to my phone. The phone connects to the reader no problem, but I get error messages that it cannot read the interface.

The other is a handheld reader, again it gets powered up, but can't detect the correct protocol. It has worked in the past...

Any idea why my ODBii port might power the devices, but not connect?

Hi, Thanks.

It does power them though? That's all it does. Also, the ODB port doesn't have all 16 pins. Behind the port, the cable and plug that goes to it only occupies about 4 pins, but I'll double check, get pictures etc.

Will try my readers on her Insignia.

Thanks.

Check all your fuses. I had a similar fault on my W210, it was detected but could not connect to any ECU. A fuse that supplied the 12v to it was blown.

Check your ignition key position. - I know my OBD reader can sometimes say that it can't read anything, then I turn the key one more stop and suddenly it can find the car after all.
