Morning all,

I've got a code saying the o2 sensor is bad on my CLS 320 CDI so I've bought a replacement and the tool to change it. I've been googling furiously to get an idea of the location of it and come up short, other than somewhere on the exhaust system.

Can someone recommend where I should jack the car up to get access to it?

Yeah I found that picture, but I read on other sites that this engine only has one o2 sensor, Bank 1 Sensor 1, is that right?

Well I had a look tonight and that picture I think is right. Basically I concluded this isn't a job I can do without a lift. Access to it is pretty hard.

I'm looking for the sensor location too, Can't seem to find it online anywhere.

I think that picture linked above may be for the V6 Petrol engine as the Diesel has a single exhaust outlet from the central turbo rather than one either side like you would expect.

You may of fixed it by now but on the C class you don`t have to take off the engine under tray.

Picture when Olly did my gearbox hydroelectro plate and other pic after the O2 sensor was replaced.

The other small sensor is a Temp. sensor.

Hi jumping onto this thread. I have Eml on for 02 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 and also intake air temperature sensor. C220 chi W204 2008 is the location for the sensor

Since I seem to have won SEO for this thread title and am recently back into an OM642-powered car I thought I'd update the thread with a picture of the location:

This is accessed by removing the first and second undertrays and is on the right side of the car. A bit of penetrant fluid 10 mins before you need to remove it and I used a 22mm flare nut spanner which worked great.
