Hi, anybody have star equipment near Selby/York areas, to diagnose parking sensor problem, just 2 red lights showing , buzzer works constantly when selecting reverse and then turns system off , i.e red light shows on switch near gear lever turns red and turns sensors off.
I realise it could be a sensor or wiring problem but cannot afford dealers.

There is a list of specialists on here that will be near you.

Try staying away from parking sensors pick up, and wave your had in front of each parking sensor the one which does no light up all your lights is the one that needs replacing, they are cheap on ebay (beware 2 different fittings so check what you have before ordering). if its the front middle ones the bumper has to come off, its a bit of a job for such a silly thing but i looked for front bumper removal on this site and someone had posted a clear post with photos a great posting, i just followed his instructions and hey presto done. Good luck.

WATCH OUT !!!!!! just bought 2 parking sensors from ebay for £13 each and neither worked, getting 1 from ECP now £33, merc £97. So i will pick up in the week and report back wether it works or not, damm the other i bought from ebay worked and still does, different seller thoe.

I'd run it down to MSL in Birmingham (Armoury Road one) - based where you are and don't want to attempt a fix yourself...

Update ECP sensor when i went to pick up it had the wrong fitting and they said that was the one they had, so thats it (NO GOOD)

Same problem here failing when reverse selected. I changed 2 sensors, law of averages, which cleared the fault with them just hanging down. I painted the new ones using a touch up brush, being careful not to apply too much, but the failure returned when refitted.
Now it seems intermittent, also affected by if it's raining. I could just change the other 2 sensors but would rather get it connected to star for a proper diagnosis.

I bought the £13 EBay ones.

I get the rain issue and the fix is to buy di-electric grease / silicon stuff, take the sensors out and dry with a hair-dryer and then coat in the grease.

Worked for ages on mine but they need doing again!
