I picked up my 2014 507 AMG last night and already in 150miles of driving, I've had more DAB drop outs than I did in 7.5yrs Focus RS ownership!

The radio seems to completely struggle to hold Absolute Radio and very annoyingly, keeps flipping to an FM receiption of the station. It's almost unlistenable.

Can the group help with any guidance on what causes this and how it can be remedied, pls? Thanks!

My c250 required a software update to rectify the same fault as yours.

Ah, thanks.... do you know which update specifically? I will try to pop into my local deal and whinge about this along with a dash squeak.... I've got a bit of OE warranty left (car is less than 3yrs old), so want to make use of it!

my newly acquired 2013 suffers the same, its booked in o the stealers tomorrow for a DAB SW update and a map update.

Alpine unit I had in my 211 very rarely dropped out

Sorry no, most dealers are aware of the issue it's quite common.

My 2014 E300 Hybrid used to drop out quite a bit, I live north Norfolk so thought it was the area.

My 2016 E350 is way better and rarely drops out.

Either there was an upgrade in fitment or software I guess.

Worth speaking with dealership or specialist who may know.

I've had the software upgrade in my W212 2014 model & it's still hopeless! I've heard there is a hardware upgrade as well but my dealer reckoned not. Hope you get sorted.

I've had the update in my W207- it dropped out again as I left MB world after having it done...

My Range Rover used to suffer on the stretch of the M25 by junction 10, however it's rarely notice it in the MB but only because it is never on....

I've never had a good experience with DAB, although it's only ever been Mercedes and one Audi I had a year or two ago. I find FM more usable if I feel the need to listen to music I didn't choose or people pretending to be best friends with people they've never met :D That said if you listen to DAB only radio stations I can imagine it would be very frustrating!.

The car is booked into MB Solihull to have this and the squeaky dash looked at under warranty..... let's see what happens!

I'm amazed at how shite it is, for a premium car, equipped with a good onboard entertainment system. My 2010 Focus RS might stutter once a year, my wifes 2016 Audi TTS (Virtual Cockpit) has never dropped out and even my cheapo Pure garage radio can hold DAB without an issue, where the same sation can't be received in the 507, when it's only sat on the drive 10feet away! Inexcusable, IMO

I had the same issue in my 2014 W204 coupe. Software update didn't fix it, but a new antenna booster/amplifier fixed it and the signal is rock solid. As others have said, its a known issue and fixed under warranty :)

My 2014 E class suffers from this. Has been in twice for software upgrades without any improvement. It is booked in next week for a signal amplifier upgrade, so I am hoping this will fix it.

Does anyone know if this amp upgrade is available outside warranty and where I could get it?

My 2013 cls seams to have no issues with DAB reception, so looks like I'm lucky. Btw I live in Cambridgeshire

I had an error message on radio screen of S212 , can't remember what it was though. It was because software wasn't coping with number of DAB stations in certain areas. software update fixed it.

other problems can be with reception itself. depending on areas.

Now in London it almost never drops DAB station.

Also, unplug any phone chargers, dash cams etc. as many ruin DAB reception.

Nothing plugged into the car at all, it's "stock"... the car is in at Merc Solihull currently, so I'm awaiting their feedback.... fingers crossed!

I use a £12 dab aerial from eBay designed for the VW510 etc.
Fakra connector, put take the plug out and plug it straight into the Merc Bad unit and attach to the window, reception is excellent.

So if they do the software update, and still no better, maybe consider that.
