Well after 3 days worth (on and off between mowing the lawn and going to the pub) I have got the car ship-shape for winter:

3 Coats of Swissvax 'shield' wax, 4 on the roof/bonnet/front wings and bumper.
Wheels off and 5 coats of Poorboys wheelseal to the front calipers and 4 coats inside/out to the front wheels.
Wheels off and 2 coats of Poorboys wheelseal to the rear calipers and 2 coats inside/out to the rear wheels.
Swissvax Pneu on all exterior rubber and plastic - I don't really rate this product but I have loads to use.
Meguiars Endurance High Gloss Tyre Gel on the tyres.

I also hoovered the inside and put a protection on the leather, put Osram Silver Stars in the main beams and touched up a nasty chip on the front caliper with red caliper paint (I suspect it was there when I bought the car but never noticed  ). Oh and I put on some new wheel centres I have had in the garage for about 2 years!!

I am knackered......

Think I may have 'Rashman' disease.....

A couple of hints and info required....

Did you apply the wax by hand or....?
Did you remove wax with a machine or by hand?
Did you leave anything to cure and for how long?
How long did the whole process take?

Car looks fantastic!

what about some sealant?

I sort of been doing something vaguely similar with the CLS

in total:

clay
do do lime prime
do do light fantastic -- 3 coats!
do do all colours hard wax -- 1 coat
jet seal 109 -- 2 coats

It ain't getting washed for at least 1 year.

I expect to just look at the dirt and watch it fall off!

Yes but your MPG will suffer with all that extra weight!":bannana:
Looks a great job though.

What's the benefit of doing three layers of wax? Is it needed for the Winter?

All of it by hand, hence the exhaustion!! I do have a polisher but generally use it for correction on older cars. I prefer to do as much by hand to be honest.

I do have some Blackfire sealant and some Poorboys Blackhole but I had waxed it just after collection so figured I didn't want to strip off that wax layer with the sealant. The Swissvax takes about 30mins to cure and the wheelseal just a few mins until it hazes.

Hopefully the extra slipperiness will improve the mpg.

As for multiple layers of wax, it seems to work alright and with such a thin coating it is always better to be safe than sorry!

After 2 months of 1000+ weeks of use I had a car wash today.

Looks OK

To get the best results put the Wax on top of the Sealant.

Hi Simon
the car looks fabulous
in every detail
I had the bodywork done in the MB "Stargard" sealant just prior to delivery
not as good as your treatment by any means but still quite nice
is there any benefit to additional coats of sealant on mine ?
or can i put wax over the top of the sealant for a better shine ?

looks great, it really does help keeping it clean when its been properly waxed, the dirt doesnt stick as well so the car stays cleaner longer, i love the c63 estates

I'd go for a half-decent carnuaba wax over the top - from P21S up to the swisswax would be ideal. will add protection as well as shine.

Sorry missed this, yep any kind of carnuba based wax to go on top should be fine. Just avoid any kind of polishing or cutting as that will take off the Supagard (which will probably wear off in 6 months time anyway!). Swissvax is too expensive I think, I just have a pot that I am still using after about 3 years!!

lol!

Mate, I've put around 55 layers of wax on my 63 since buying it last May!

But then again, this is Rashman, here.
