Radar detector ?

Any one know of possible radar detector fitted to W210's and W208's
small amber light to the left of fuel gauge ?
 
Dont think it is, it is a warning light for radar and it beeps too plus mutes the stereo

I hadn't really noticed you said a light to the left of the speedo. That sounds like an after-market detector.
 
no its to the left of the petrol gauge W210 and W208 and its not after market
its fitted by MB but no mention any where in the hand books !

How do you know it's fitted by MB?
 
RADAR detectors are illegal in many parts of Europe ... your car can be seized if you have one fitted (even if turned off). So if that's really what the light is, there's almost no chance it was an M-B fit IMHO.
 
Well truth has it, until somebody comes up with the answer then MB did fit it !
its not retro or aftermarket fitted !
 
I guess it's not an official MB product, but just like my trailer light coupling, there is no reason what the "tell tale" can't use one of the spare warning sockets.

How do you know?

I fitted my tow bar and used one of the warning lights.

If it's an MB product here will be a symbol on the light, if it's blank it is just a spare.
 
There is no sign of retro fitting of any kind have been all over the car, the only thing
that is foxing me is the front park a tronic sensors they are radar sensors !
makes the mind boggle ?
 
If the front sensors are radar sensors then it's definitely a retrofit item.
 
How do you know the system is reacting to radar?
 
because thats how they function
