I can have a look on the way home from work if anybody is interested looks like the rear quarters are bent but pullable/fillable, had a quick look on ebay most of the parts are available, even the little plastic trim panels which can be a give away when they are not there, or a quick pull with a lampost and a bit of rope, new boot and lights, flog the interior on ebay and you have a cheap track day car,

I would say something high hit it as the bumper looks untouched,

I would but I have no garage, if I had a garage it would be full of machinery and wouldnt be able to fit an E55 in anyway!!

Mark thats a good punt for someone I agree! A 1-owner car too...

I wonder what hit that? the bumper looks intact, strange how high up the damage is?

yeah the damage is high, I wondered if a truck had hit it, something of a square section at the front and I would say square on as the number plate is intact, wonder what damage the hinges have taken...

girlie says its gypo city where the car is, so I would be looking for reasons not the trust them over any other seller,

also to be honest I have done worse damage to cars and fixed them, I hand braked my escort into a tree at a stupid speed when I was younger, lamp post and rope and new boot and bumper and she was a good as new, this E55 can come back I reckon,

computer in the car would appear to be showing an error, I would assume thats the rear bulbs not working,

does anybody else think the nearside rear wheel is showing a bit of camber?

When my car was rear-ended about 4 years ago, the bumper was fine but the boot floor behind it was rippled. the bumper had bounced back instantly with zero damage, not even a scratch.

If you look at the tailgate on that 210 where the boot would normally close, it's seriously bent. I bet it's folded the boot floor and all the rear sections are squashed flat.

Expensive repair then?

It would cost about £1000 to repair.

MMM I do fancy it....

Would that be £1000 back on the road or £1000 for a track hack?

also if it needs a VIC check, and the boot and lights were fixed would that make it still not road legal?

also says the car has tiptronic, yes if you count the gear change from 4-5th

It's missed the floor, and the AMG rear bumper, which is a bonus.

Used bootlid £100, new rear panel £75, rear lights £50, quick panel up £300, £350 for paint.

Been wondering about buying a crash damaged E55 to break and put the running gear in my C43, "should" be quite straight forward swap.

She's not wrong, but that yard has been there for about 50 years, so they should know what they are talking about - it's more that possible that they would tell you something different to make the sale though!

Some nice big houses around there, mostly bungalows with big iron gates at the end of the drives... lots Landcrusiers also...

Best of luck,

Simon

Now that's what I'm talking about!;)

A 1-owner car too...

That's such a bummer - someone owned that car for 10yrs and probably thought they were going to keep it for ever.

Doesn't look like it was hit too hard, but I always wonder about mechanical damage to the drivetrain, especially if hit while the box was in park/

yes I had never thought of that, and I doubt you will ever find out, adds fuel to the fire of this type of thing being a risk, but is the park mechanism a mechanical one, so the worst would be a broken parking pawl, if it fell off where would it end up??? in the box???
