Rear Ended

Well, a sad christmas day it was, I had just reversed carefully out of the folks driveway, and had just engaged drive, with the brakes still on when some doughnut drove straight out of a private drive, then over the pavement and straight into the back of my CLK on the road before I had the chance to pull away.

Question to all knowledgable tweakers - can the car's computer be interrogated to see that the car was stationary, with the brake lights on and had drive engaged? Better still can the accelerometers in the SRS system be interrogated against the above?

It seems it has only split the rear bumper; hopefully no damage underneath.....

Welcome to the forum with a bump.

Sorry cant help on the techie stuff. Seems like you got away lightly. As you say get it checked for further damage on the rear floor pan.

Cheers for the welcome, I'll be getting the CLK checked, thanks...the car's next outing will be to the dealership, I'll drive swmbo's until then;-)
