Recovering Possibly Corrupted Photos

I have a set of photos from my house extension (c2005) that come up with the following message when I try to open them:

"Photo Gallery can't open this photo or video. The file may be unsupported, damaged or corrupted"

Each photo (around 50) is showing between 512kb and 620kb, so there's something there - there were others at 0kb so I deleted those.

There are others in the same folder that open perfectly well and all were taken with the same camera.

Any ideas on what package I might use to open the bad ones?

Give PDF, DOC, DOCX, DAT, BIN, PHP Viewer - FreeFileViewer a go just for opening files.
If you think the files are corrupted then try Recuva. You can find that at https://www.piriform.com/recuva.
If that fails then there are other free photo recovery software.

I tried Recuva but it can't see the files. I need something that can recover corrupted files.

Give this a whirl, just make sure you get the free one. I have used this in the past. You might find the full version with a key code somewhere.

Note that he needs to repair a corrupt file, not undelete a deleted file.

Jpeg is just one of many different possible image files, Google jpeg repair there's a few progs out there.
