Has anyone themselves or otherwise know of someone who has remapped the SL55 engine (whether in an SL or not) but without friggin around going that bit further and changing pulleys. In the real world the standard 500bhp (or there about's) along with all that torque is quite adequate for me and I know with a remap (only) there may be around another 40bhp and 35ftIbs to be had. There are probably two specialists I'd be confident to tamper with it and that is DMS and MSL but it's not just the increase that I'm interested in as once you unleash 500 or so another 50 ain't gonna feel that much difference, however I am interested to know how different the engine feels. Besides being a tad quicker is it more responsive? more eager to rev? etc. etc. - how does it character change. Can anybody give me an opinion or some advice based on first-hand experience. Thanks.

I would be beyond staggered if you would achieve 50bhp from a chip tune without modifying boost from previous experience.

I have NO doubt that you will see claimed power uplift to the above effect.

If you seek driveability combined with the removal of the limiter then it is probably worth it. If you want more power, then my view is that it would not be worth it without the other work such as pulleys.

Thanks, I appreciate that advice.

I think its worth it, the transition from N/A to S/C as the clutch engages is much smoother post mapping with a more up to date map.
