Thinking of doing this having read much on here. Has anyone used AMD in Thurrock for such or know if they are recommended. They sound as if they know about it, although mostly VAG work and don't promise silly figures which sounds good, as I still want reliability.

Any advice greatly appreciated

I went to Eurocharged in Watford - very good results. They'll dial in the power / torque you want, I went for a middle-of-the-road tune. You'll get north of 300bhp from yours easily with no loss of economy. I found that I rarely make maximum use of mine, but the mid range torque is improved, so the economy has improved by a tad over 10%.
GAD tuning in Chelmsford, Rebellion in Surrey and MSL in Birmingham are the other tuners worth considering.
