Morning Again...

So, 2008 CLS 320 CDI

Had a quick look in the manual including the COMAND user manual and i can't seem to find the model or system number.

I am looking at updating the Maps and need to know what disc to purchase. Once updated, will it give me 7 digit postcodes, opposed to the 4 that i have currently? I gather its running on the original 2008 software/firmware.

Anyone point me in the right direction please?

As a general rule, map updates contain just map updates, so won't add any new features - this is done by separate telematics/firmware software upgrade to your COMAND unit. Some models can be updated by software download from MB's website, but most need to be updated using STAR. Furthermore, some models require that the firmware is updated before the latest maps can be installed.

If you currently can only input 4 characters of the postcode then you have the earlier NTG1 system. This cannot be upgraded to accept full postcodes.

You could look at changing the comand system for the NTG 2.5 version which will allow full postcode input.
