Hi all,

I'm after some advice. I'm by no means a car mechanic but as a maintenance engineer I'm alright with tools and repairs.

I've had H&R springs fitted by Andy at eurocharged on my C32. I'm now feeling that a set of Bilsteins wouldn't go a miss.

I have had a look at the shocks and how they fit and the rears look a easy fix, I am however slightly nervous about the fronts as the shocks hold the springs. Is it as simple as removing the top and bottom bolts, lowering the spring and then just putting it all back or am I missing something? Do I need spring compressors?

Thanks in advance

Steve

The 203 uses a particular spring compressor Steve. Why not remove the struts complete and get someone to change the shocks? It's safer!!!!

So I can remove the whole assembly and then let someone else remove the spring? That could work and save me a bundle in labour

Yep. If you like a bit of DIY work its the way to go.
Nut holding the top of the strut to the body mount
Pinch bolt half way down with alen bolt head that needs to be removed
X2 19 mm bolts mounting the strut to the hub
Unbolt the roll bar drop link
Unclip the plastic housing for the wiring and its off.

Sounds like it's not too bad. Might have to give it a go.
