    I'm [finally] going to get the wheels on my A200 C169 refurbished (actually it's a swap, but I got a choice of colours).

    The wheels are 18" AMG type III. I've already painted the calipers red this summer.

    So far I'm inclined to go high gloss anthracite, here's a mockup (front wheel obviously, the rear one - as it is now):

    [IMG]

    The centre caps will be the black/red Edition One (the raised type), with bolts either painted black (grey?) or covered with gloss anthracite tops.

    The other wheels' colour choices are:
    • gloss black, but with a black car (Cosmos Black 191) it will never match the car colour, so will look a bit naff;
    • matt anthracite;
    • standard silver.

    Opinions please :rolleyes:

    The colour that makes it go the fastest of course.

    High gloss anthracite as per the illustration looks good.Black would effectively "lose" the wheels

    Matt anthracite would be my choice.

    I agree.

    I know some people like black-on-black, but to me it looks dated.

    Agree with H and think that Silver would be the best choice.

    I'd go high gloss anthracite, as there appears to be no silver/chrome elsewhere on the car?

    Not a fan of the anthracite, they seem to get lost. Is there an option for gunmetal?

    That's precisely why I feel the silver wheels are just "too loud" for this car.

    Isn't that just a non-fancy name for anthracite? :dk:

    PS I just go for what the supplier had listed - plenty of choice, but no gunmetal

    If you mean get them slightly lighter, that should be possible, I guess.

    Thanks!

    It was the great job you did on your calipers, that inspired me :thumb:
    And I bought the Ed1 caps after seeing yours :bannana:

    GLK I feel a bit guilty as my calipers came red as standard on the A250, although mine was looking a bit tatty all I did was to tart them up with some touch up paint and then added the ED1 caps

    Was looking for a black set and you can get them really cheap seen some around £20 now, think I paid 48 quid for my red set I bought about 8 months ago, don't you just hate that lol

    And I agree with you GLK silver is a bit to bright, I'd go for a darker colour with your car it'll make it more sleek in my opinion.
    But each to their own, I'm sure what ever you decide on it'll look good.

    Ah, I see LOL - It was inspirational nonetheless :bannana:

    I do remember seeing yours after touch-up and thinking: well, mine are the same as your rear ones and it looks great, so might as well go for it, as before seeing yours I thought these are just too small to paint red (visually, before someone explains about brush sizes)...

    I'm pretty much settled on high gloss medium-dark grey (i.e. anthracite) - will ask the guys if they can up the aluminium flake content, to make it a bit more metallic, otherwise quite happy with the appearance.

    Many thanks to everyone for their helpful advice! :thumb:

    Possibly, but I meant lighter :)

    They seem to be a little too dark, a colour in between the silver and anthracite would work better IMO.

    Not really simplifying the choice here :D
