squeak (supercharger clutch?)

Hello,

I have a really annoying squeak when I set off from a stand still. The car is a c32 amg with 84k on the clock. It doesn't do it in reverse so I'm assuming its something to do with the supercharger? It sounds like its coming right from the front of the car.

Is my car toast?

Probably just your supercharger "chirp" mine does it. I'm lead to believe it's nothing to worry about.

Loose aux belt? Alternator pulley? Water pump?

That chirp is nothing to worry about. Mine has done it for the last 3 years of ownership.
It is indeed the s/c pulley engaging.

On the 55k the chirp is when the s/c clutch engages which it won't until approx 1800rpm, unless you floor it....

Thank you for the reply. I am at Eurocharged tomorrow for the separate transmission oil cooler. Maybe they can take a look too.

Glad it's nothing to worry about - Is there anything you can still do though or is it better just to leave it?

There is a gap between the pulley and supercharger (.020 - .030". IIRC).
It may be worth checking that.
It can be adjusted using shims and I am sure that the people at Eurocharged can measure it for you.

Thanks French, interesting as mine only started recently too and only after the pulley
