Mercedes m class
I run an independent mercedes repair workshop in Lancashire and I have been told by the local mercedes dealer that they will no longer supply theft relevant parts to 3rd party workshops.
This includes Eis, esl, gearbox companion plates in 7g tronic, engine control units, srs control units etc...
Vehicles affected are anything up to 2011.
So if your Eis goes faulty or steering lock on a 204 c class, this can only be replaced by the dealers...
They won't even supply the part to the vehicle owner either
We were told about it this on Wednesday the 9th of March... I am sure there will be a lot of mercedes drivers affected, so I am just making everyone aware of what is going on.
If enough people complain to mercedes uk it maybe withdrawn as it was in the USA I am lead to believe

I'm surprised the EU aren't all over this. It sounds very unethical at the least.

You would have thought it falls under restrictive trading rules, I will at some stage contact Mercedes uk to get clarification on the matter.
