Since there is nothing than I like better than seeing an Austin A60 or a Jaguar Mark 10 go out in a blaze of glory on the oval circuit, I took myself to the pre-85 meeting at Hednesford a couple of weeks ago.

I haven't been for a few years and the format back then was pre-68 divided into two categories:

Unders (under 1725cc) - BMC Farinas, Hillman Minxes, early Vauxhall Victors etc.

Overs - Rover P4 / P5 / P5B, 60s Jaguars, Humbers, "Big" Farinas, Austin 3 Litres etc.

I don't think I'll go again as the field was greatly reduced under the new format and so were spectator numbers.

There was very little 1960s material - only a solitary Farina compared to 20+ last time I was there:

I'm not sure if this is a Singer Vogue or a Humber Sceptre:

The cars allowed in under the new format included Mark 4 / 5 Cortinas, Capris, Nissan Bluebirds and even a Ford Sierra. However, there were a few interesting offerings:

Triumph 2000 or 2500 x2:

Things improved when the heavy artillery arrived.

Daimler Sovereign Series I:

Then came the big one:

It still had an MOT until 2011 apparently:

Triumph 1500 or Dolomite:

And after its second and last race of the day:
