"how many cars do you know that the indicators get louder on a noisy motorway?"

Hmmm, I dont think you actually need that feature in a Mercedes, mine is so quiet and refined at speed, or am I missing the point in my &quot;old&quot; age, should a noisy bag of sh1t car impress me? &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

I did point this out to somone who was trying to impress me with the new vectra .....

I've seen the other Vectra TV ad where they mention special features...

&quot;interactive driving feature&quot;

Frankly I'd be majorly worried if the act of driving wasn't a fully interactive experience... &quot;oh the car's ignoring me and doing what it wants&quot; time to stop and get out. <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

I think this is a feature for the vectra drivers that are blind or partially sighted - at least the current crop of drivers are as they never notice you when cutting you up on the motorway. This may also explain why they designed the car to look so #### ugly. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

All i can say is, WHAT!!!!!!!!

they have seriously employed monkeys to design their cars now. <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

I have to agree with all of the above, Multi-million £ car design, No doubt Ed Harris demanded a rather large 6 figure sum for doing the advert in the first place, it probably cost the GM Europe think tank millions to come up with the idea of noisy indicators.....yet wouldnt it have been better to plough a few quid into decent sound proofing from road noise?

The minds of fat cats baffle me they really do! <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

That is exactly what I said. The new rep-mobile/taxi/car hire special, has to have speed sensitive indicators because the thing is too noisy.

That is the worst selling point I have ever heard. Plonkers!

Then again, in the CL broucher there is a line something like...

All comand radio systems in the CL are equipped with DLC technology... as ambient noise inside the car gets louder, the radio volume increases.

Not quite the indicators though!

How about designing self cancelling indicators that actually cancel.

Now this feature IS usefull, and fitted to a LOT of cars already anyway (including cr#ppy vauxhauls)

Its nice to have the stereo the same level compared to background noise, but if the car is too noisy to hear the indicators, well there is no hope for the stereo anyway is there?

True, true.

My c class does that noise balancing thing. The stereo gets louder depending on how fast the car is going , rather nifty on the motorway.
