I would like to install the bushings aswell in my W447. Unfortuntly my V from 2019 has only the bushings in the place where the roof rails are installed. In the other 6 positions where the rails are not installed is only a blind cap installed. As I saw the parts to install are the same as on the the W639. But what is the right torgue for the bolt, which fixes the bushing and the spacer ring?I have installed a newer version of EPC/WIS and looked again at the roof mountings.
What you have been given appear to be A 639 992 00 07 Threaded Bushing Roof Member Mounting from chassis 052879 31/03/2004. Before this date, A 000 984 65 21 Riveted Nut Roof Member Mounting was used.
The repair procedure now does not have any chassis/date limitation so I guess MB have dropped the rivnut and now only use the threaded bush.
This is to be used with spacer ring A 639 992 05 01 Bushing and bolt A 639 990 03 04 Bolt to secure the threaded bush from inside. Body sealant A 001 989 63 20 is to be applied to the threaded bush before insertion into the roof channel.
By the way, it looks like the bolts to secure the roof rails into the threaded bush are M6x16 mm after chassis 052879 31/03/2004 (N 000000 001476) whereas they were M6x20 (N 000000 003894) before. Guess it means M6x 16 for the threaded bush solution.
Hopefully this info is enough for you to tackle the job. It looks as though you have to access the underside of the roof to fasten the threaded bush, whereas the rivnut solution may well have required only outside access.
