Is a W123 240d diesel rare ? that's the first question, if the answer is yes, than this might be a project. If No, it's scrap.

Well its certainly not scrap - a diesel W123 is worth a fair bit for export whole or in parts (although being so oop north might them off). They are legendary in north africa, parts of the med etc - hence you couldn't park one for more than 5 mins without it getting nicked a few years ago!
