W123 independent in London

I've just bought a W123 280E Auto. Needs a few tweaks to restore it to perfect and I'm looking for a reasonably priced mechanic and some bodywork (arch rust etc).
Any recommendations for central, North or West London? I am in NW1.

For mechanicals, Wayne Gates in Harrow is an often recommended indy on this forum.

I am sure Terry there could point you towards a good bodyshop if necessary for your wings etc..

Mechanically, they're very simple cars so a trained monkey can fix them. I've not lived in the UK for almost 20 years so I don't know any MB mechanic shops anymore.

However, the last time I was in London I used a body shop in Park Royal to fix some damage on my mothers car. He's from Lebenon so I suspect that he's fixed more W123's than I've had hot dinners. I only have his cell # so I'll send it to you via PM.

Congratulations. I have a 79 280CE, an 80 280TE , a 77 240D and I just picked up an 84 230CE. I can't say that I'm a big fan of the model but they seem to find their way into my garage
