A funny thing happened to me last week........
I initially located a broken wire on my AC fan control unit which I duly fixed, and had nice ice cold AC working again....
Got in the car a few days later, switched the fan control to number 2 to get some air circulating, and heard a big clunk from behind the control panel, and then everything worked again.
Not thinking too much about it, today I noticed that the fan speed selector didn't seem to be working at any speed except for what is the lowest speed possible. After a bit of fiddling around and pushing the three buttons (AC, recirc and demist), I heard the same clunk and then nothing else.
Driving home today the fan kicked and started working again...when I got home though nothing.
I've looked around on the forum, and it seems that the first thing to check is the external strip fuse. Only the problem is that I can't find it!!! Can someone point me in the right direction please.
It's a 96 e320 coupe btw.
