W124 boot light stays on

Hello all,
The boot light in my 124 stays on constantly, Ive held the plastic pin in and it remains on.
Ive checked the wiring at the back of the pin and all seems ok.
Disconnecting the pin doesnt turn the light off??
The only way of turning it off is to remove either the light bulb or one of the connectors.

I wonder if this may be to do with my car alarm woes (previous post).....

Any help greatly appreciated

The light is likely to have a switched earth. So locate where the earth is made and you've located the problem
