W124 radio not working

My W124 has a Blaupunkt Cassablanca CM62 stereo. These were OEM in early W140 and illuminate and look perfect in the W124.

It's stopped working tonight. When the key is out of the ignition, the red LED flashes as per normal. When I start the engine, the red LED goes out as per usual but the radio doesn't come on. No sound and no illumination.

Where do I start first?

Did you switch it off when the ignition was still on? If that's the case it will not come on again until you switch it on at the radio, ie, not just using the ignition switch to power it on and off.

Yes, I've tried rotating the volume knob which is the on/off switch for the radio itself. No difference.
