on these engines it's the lead that goes to the MAF (across back of engine) that gets burnt over time.
You need to check the continuity of each wire from the MAF plug back to the ECU plug - they will likley have shorted to each other.
Have you done diesel man's test yet ?
the rubber extenders down to the plugs can go faulty too.
a simple 'blip light' test of the fault codes will reveal which cylinder is not firing properly in that case.
Try find Indie familiar with you generation of car.
