W126 front bumper

Has anybody put the SEC bumper on the SEL? I quite like thebottom front fog lights and think it suits the saloon. In addition, are the bumper chromes the same?

Well no, the top of the bumper is shaped to account for the wider grille.

Well I guess you are talking about machining and re-chroming. With the will and the money you can achieve anything. Look at all the custom jobs about but whether the 126 purists will agree with you is another matter no matter how good it looks.

It fits at long as you use the chrome central piece from the saloon. (Fitted to the SEC bumper.) Only because the saloon centre piece of chrome has the indent for the grille to fit when the bonnet is shut.
So the side pieces are the same from saloon to coupe.
Easy swap basically as long as you have the bits.

Thanks very much! That's the answer I guess I was kind of hoping for. I think I may have sourced a bumper too....

Hopefully early 2018 she will be back on the road then we need a W126 GTG!!!
