W164 footwell lights

After installing leds all round inside the ml I've now noticed the footwell lights front and rear are on when driving.

Is this normal?

Is there a way to dim them?

I am pretty sure the footwell lights only come on when the door is opened, never tried to dim them, they might be on the same circuit as the instrument panel lights. Cannot check as a 1000+ miles away from my ML on holiday at present, but would suspect your LED installation has caused the problem

I may be wrong but i belived that the footwell lights would dim down when the door was closed but stay on for some kind of ambient /mood lighting, and the fact that i have now used leds will make the light so much more noticable / pronounced?

Just want confirmation really?
guess ill have to play tonight and replace one footwell bulb with origional and see if its still lit?
