Hi all, first post and I'm just after a bit of help, I'm just wondering if any of you know of any second hand adjustable coilovers for sale for my 97 w202 as I can't afford the £600 that eBay are selling them for, I currently have a 45mm drop spring kit on with 17x9 rear wheels and 17x8 fronts, thanks - Marco

What thickness springs pads have you fitted?

Coilovers aren't very common for a W202, you'll struggle to find them second hand. You can lower it just as much with springs though.

Don't W202s have separate shocks and springs...if so, how would coilovers be fitted?

I don't know really that's why I'm asking for help, I seen some coilovers on eBay and thought maybe someone may have second hand ones mate

The spring and shocker are still separate, not as it's shown on the picture as far as I know. There's an adjustable base for the spring to lower/raise.

There are 4 different thickness spring pads, if yours has the thickess fitted, fitting one nib pads will lower the car more.

They are playing a game...the illustrations are examples (of what someone else will get).

I've avoided fitting coil overs to my W202 as I don't think that the standard shock location is designed to be strong enough to take a spring as well. All I could see happening in the medium to long term is the inner wings cracking or distorting due to the spring pressure?

£600 for coil overs is very cheap.

The cheap kits are utter turd. They leak after 6 months.
