A pool of engine oil on the undertray after a long drive!

I know the front right corner of the HG is seeping a tiny amount of oil (it has for years) but can a head gasket really leak this amount without any other ill effects? It drives fine with no HGF signs.

It's hard to pinpoint the source of the leak but it seems to be from above the sump. Any thoughts what else could be the cause.

The cam magnet is ok. Oil level sensor also ok.

If it's the head gasket it will have to be scrapped I'm afraid which is a bit of shame as it's not a rot box at all.

Cheers!

Check the around cam chain tensioner. Front left if standing in front of the car looking towards the rear. Mine on my w202 99 plate 230k came lose and oil flowed out. Just needed nipping up
