Hi there,
Was having a bad day last week - had to do a 350 mile round trip for a 1 hour meeting, stopped in the services on the way home to get some food as I was starving, went to reverse into a space, saw the lamp post but didn't spot the other post in front of it!
Anyway was reversing too fast to react when the parktronic activated and ended up crunching into the post!
Stayed in the car for a good few minutes cursing, then got out and expected a massive dent.
Fortunately the bumper looks fine, I even managed to hit in between the parking sensors, so they still seem to be fine as no error bleeps when I go into reverse.
What I have spotted is that the rear PTS display seems to have spat out some liquid into the plastic housing. Still get the beeps when I'm close to something, although the display lights no longer work.
I'm guessing I need a new display. I think it's this part code 2108204701
Question - would I be able to use 2108201401 instead? (I have found a few used parts that are a lot cheaper than buying new!)
This link lists both parts (part 040 on diagram)...
Mercedes INTERIOR LAMPS
My car is a W209 2007 CLK320
Thanks in advance
