w210 e300 td engine knoking

    Hi
    when cold engine knocking
    realy distinct metal cpatering
    but dissapears after 15 20 seconds
    but not chain
    can it be fuel pump

    The OM606 is a gem of old tech. IDI as you probably know.
    Worn injector nozzles = 'nailing'?

    Sounds nowt too serious, anyway.

    If you are using a 10W oil maybe change to 5?

    its more than likely just a bit of air in the fuel, not enough to cause trouble starting but enough to describe your symptoms exactly,and nothing to worry about

    i think that it may be one of the injectors is going nuts
    it started to smoke a bit when driving
    and fuel consumtion increased dramatically,
    can it be injector ??

    Yup. Slacken off each injector pipe to find which one. Or use the hammer handle stethoscope method.

    How many miles has the car done, any previous injector/pump work done? Could be an bad injector or lifter. Maybe post a video?

    Good point - I had a OM606 with a sticky lifter and it would do exactly as OP describes. It was a NA .910
