Wondered if anyone is in the know. My LCD clock is exceptionally dim - you can just about make out the digits in the right light - however, all pixels are there. Do you think it might be a fused backlight bulb problem ?

The other LCD readouts are fine - ie the temp and centre multi -information panel (does this mean these bulbs are working ? Must also mean the bulbs are on all the time - is this possible ?

thanks:D

Yes, there is a bulb there, and they are illuminated all the time. Looks like the bulb has blown.

They can also be affected by a poor connection to the back of the unit which does however result in lost pixels, if the backlight does not cure the problem look for the fix on the 'other' forum which involves a rubber band and a matchstick .... it works!

You were absolutely right - it was the bulb - thanks

Is the bulb easy to replace? Do I have to take the dashboard apart to get at it?
