W211 E320cdi smoking and juddering

I notice recently that my E320 cdi start smoking a bit. When driving and put foot down I can see smoke coming behind the car. Same when stationary. When add revs slowly up its ok but when just push and release smoke is coming out. Blackish. Its my wifes car so I dont drive very often. I notice as well once or twice when try to accelerate the engine was like juddering and didnt want to get the speed. Not enough fuel or to much or maybe fuel filter needs replacing?? Thats for the juddering but smoke? Is the turbo or injectors on way out??

If it is black smoke on acceleration then the engine is over-fuelling usually because of a boost leak...

So actuator or turbo?

Look for a leak down-stream of the turbo.
The "boost" goes from the turbo through the intercooler at the front of the car then to the inlet manifold. The trunking can become detached or worn through if it touches anything it should not

I've replace the fuel filter and so far is ok. Will see over bank holiday as I've got few miles to do so will be able to check it.

Have you checked/replaced the air filter(s)?
