Hey guys,

All of a sudden the Central locking/open boot etc is not working.

What we have tried.

  • Replacing batterys in key fob - No joy.
  • Re-sync of key fob - turn key to position two, pull it out, within 10 seconds hold down the lock buttom and press the unlock button 5 times quick while still holding hte lock button. It shoudl resync right then. - Again no joy.
  • Tried the secondry key fob - no joy
  • Replace the 7.5 fuse in the boot (The fuse that was in was blown) but we changed it with a new one but still no joy.

Really do not want to take it into mercades,Its starting to cost alot of money this car it was on the computer just last week before this key fob issue happened.

any suggestions appreciated. :)

What does the 7.5 fuse protect?
Is your car alarm working properly?

Antenna amplifier module.

Sodding thing has the receiver and digitizer for the RF remote built in to it, passes digital signal to SAM module that decodes it and checks with ECU if it can unlock.

Just been through the same pain on my SLK.

I had this issue recently and fuse number 8 in the boot compartment had blown and the reason it had blown was a faulty alarm siren which runs off the same fuse so maybe check the fuse and if blown try disconnecting the siren located behind the front nearside wheel arch then replace the fuse to see if it works. a link to show how to get to the siren
