Hi

Has anybody changed their polybelt on the V6 diesel?

Is it a normal DIY job or are special tools needed?

Has anyone seen a 'how to' on the net please?

Took the estate in for the safety recall yesterday and they advised that it was starting to crack, so I will try and have a go myself if not too difficult.

Thanks for any info

The intake pipe has to be removed and the tensioner is very very tight.

Don't know about the V6 but on most this is definitely a DIY job, main thing for me is to take a photo of the belt before you take it off so that you know where the new one goes when you put it back on. Can be a bit of a bitch threading it around the fan so that you do not have to take the fan off.

Its not the end of the world. Just draw the routing before you remove the old one...

You will need a female torx and a long bar to move the tensioner as its tight.

Some tensioners are a double hex 17mm socket

20 min job for the experts!

One of Acids Techs did mine in their Carpark (busy day and I'd just rocked up unannounced) along with a Filter change, the Orange Turbo intake seal and a sensor all in just over an hour while I stood and watched.

Very impressed to say the least!
