OK, just how hard is it to create your own web site??? I am just about to purchase moggieminor.co.uk to detail the restoration of our latest addition.
Can anyone point me in the right direction??, should I just do a blog thing???
Cheers

Not hard at all. If I can do it anyone can. ;)

Plot your site map our before you start - saves a lot of time down the line. Story board it then build;)

I used Homestead once then I think I used MS Front Page and Publisher. I've also played with Serif.

You can use Word to buils pages too;) There's loads of freeware available too. Try Download.com.

Be warned though that the MS packages mentioned, and a lot of freeware packages don't generate standards-compliant code. This means that it may not render quite as you'd hope in all browsers. You can get the code compliance checked at http://validator.w3.org/

I use dreamweaver but it's a little pricey for those outside of the educational line of business.

Other options would include looking at something like Mambo, which will manage the site for you and allows you to edit articles, pages etc. within its own environment from anywhere. See http://www.mamboserver.com/

website

A friend of mine, who has been in the web industry at a very senior level since 1996 sells website templates - you just have to enter your text and images- his website is www.site-simple.com.

Not sure about pricing but I know it's very cheap and he knows what he is doing.
