Hey all

Received this email today (screenshot uploaded below) and have been wondering what it is? From memory I don't think I've signed up to anything Mercedes related other than the official website, and the MB service section on the official website

Normally whatever I've registered for I receive an email straight away to confirm the registration/account, however this turned up in my inbox today out the blue. Doesn't look very professional/sleek as a normal Mercedes mailout either, the address that sent it is: [email protected]

Is it just a random spam email or is it something from Mercedes? Tad confused (haven't signed up to anything recently)

May be from the service thing, but having just had a quick look at it, it's a site belonging to the Sytner group of dealers.

Maybe you bought from there or they're your local dealership?

Sytner are a chain of dealers for BMW, MB, etc. They are not THE mercedes club or even mercedes UK, just a dealer. It is spam of sorts.

Yeah Sytner own the Northampton one I visited last week for my service, just thought it strange as when clicked the link then asks for a password.

Definitely looks spammy just the layout and use of colours, not very high end like normal (my picky-ness with visual design kicking in there)

Thought maybe someone else would have received the same and recognised it

Don't recall receiving an email but I belong to the club.

Had a number of free fluid checks, oil top up etc, prior to going on holidays ..

Yes, I'm in 'The Club' at Sytner Carlisle.

Never used any of the perks though. I like to do my own checks.

I'm always a bit wary of "free checks" for things sold by the checkers.

Thanks peeps! Free stuff doesn't sound bad, I'll definitely take the free top up. I bet the free car wash either has a catch or you'd have to book in advance :headbang:

If you want a proper job done makes sense to pre-book a wash.

As for free check wariness you don't have to accept any 'suggested' work..

I can only speak for my experience at MB Swindon (Sytners) but I have had nothing but 1st class service. :thumb:

I'm hoping this free wash includes actually washing the windscreen which they didn't do last week, apart from the windscreen though they actually done a top job. The valet within was decent too!

Logged in and checked the deals out. I've enquired about the 15% off chip repairs as I've got a tiny spot on my rear passenger door, and a nick on the tailgate from where I pulled the chrome strip down too hard

Good thing I decided to post :thumb:

Yup, I'm in MB Northampton Sytner club too, have been for nearly five years now.

I like it - most of the free check-ups came up all green anyway, both on my old W168 and current C169, a couple that wasn't, pointed out to real stuff that were later sorted elsewhere (and somewhat cheaper ;) ) - there was absolutely no pressure / sales pitches at all.

They also did a few freebies for me from time to time - like replacing a slow leaking rear washer pipe, changing bulbs, etc. Although with some new staff now on the scene, I have a feeling that's not going to happen anymore.

With the free wash, make sure you have a strict "no machine wash" notice on file - they have two bays, one is a dreadful rotating brushes thingy, which I wasn't expecting to see at a Mercedes dealership - another advantage of a dashcam

Some offers are quite good too, like £49 for a full antibacterial a/c treatment and re-gas - not too bad at all.

Nice one! What indies/specialists round here would you recommend? I've heard Parkhams in Wellingborough are quite good

That's what I heard too, I also used Hodge & Sons and once Duston (for checking brakes), but for serious and expensive stuff I actually go to PCS in Horndean - not exactly local, but the best service and unquestionable integrity & professionalism, in my opinion. My regular maintenance is done under Service Care plan by MB of Northampton.

I'm going to use Parkhams for some bodywork fitting and speak to them about spraying if it's possible so I'll have some personal feedback on them soon

That one in Horndean looks real good, and there's a seaside nearby so I could make a day of it :thumb:

Having some lighting issues so hoping one of them suggested can help me out
