Will be having wheels refurbished in a couple of weeks, a full tyre off, strip back to bare metal and powder coat job. Looking for recommendations on a wheel wax to apply straight after.

Now of only I could make my mind up about the colour, stick with the stock silver, go for the gunmetal grey/titanium... Oh the decisions

I'd stick with stock silver if I were you. Especially on the E class.

Can I ask where your having the refurb done and how much your paying for it please?

I'm having mine done for £180 but a face only refurb (with any slighly buckles being straightened)

I have just fitted a set of larger gunmetal coloured alloys to my black CLS , i bought them new for only £50 more than what it would have cost to have the originals re- cut.

I will keep the originals for the winter and get them powder coated when it comes time to change the car.

Apply Sonax Extreme Detailer spray after the car/wheels are washed. Stops dirt / brake dust adhering and is easy to apply next wash time. Makes them gleam too.

I myself would use carpro dlux but you can use wheel wax effectively such as finishkare hi temp wax (fk1000p) obsession wax taranis or bouncers looking sweet wax.. do 2 coats

Cost depends a bit on wheel size, for my 18" rims £257 for all 4 (£64.25 each) which seems reasonable. Have used them before and they did a good job on a badly kerbed rim + I work in Birmingham and they offer a one day turnaround so its an easy job.

Located within 200 yards of M6 J6.

Was going to go with a gunmetal grey but beginning to think I'll stick with the stock silver. The wheels are NOT diamond cut.

That seems a fair price although I reckon I'll stick to the mobile service as they come to me and highly recommended my David (GLK) so I know he'll do a good job :)

Chemical Guys Wheel Guard is worth a look. Couple of coats will help repel the brake dust that's for sure. :)

From personal experience, I'd also go for the GTechniq C5.

In terms of colour, I think gunmetal would look great on these wheels against the black E-Class and will also look slightly different to all others.
