CLK 270 CDI
Hi Everyone,

I have a CLK 270 CDI Elegance Auto and want to change the factory stereo. I have seen some 2005 versions of the stereo on ebay, but I just want to know if they will fit and work in my car?

Both my car and the 2005 model are the same build I think. Both are W209.

Yes, and no.

The short version is that it's not a like-for-like swap, but it can be done; probably easier to leave it to someone who knows what they're doing, rather than trying to do it yourself.

Do you have a pre-facelift dash? If so, no it won't.

Pretty sure their not the same, the CLK was facelifted in 2005 and moved from D2B to MOST fibre optic system.

Its totally different.. It would be a specialist job to retrofit it. Only people I know who could do it are comandonline.

You would be better sticking to original or going aftermarket with face plate adaptor.

Hi
I am not sure if it's a pre-facelift dash, but I have attached a picture of it.

I don't know if it would be compatible, but have you considered an aftermarket unit? I recently installed a Pioneer SPH-DA120 in to a 2009 W209, its a great bit of kit for the price, IIRC approx £300.
